| Birth: | Dec. 20, 1951 | | Death: | Mar. 11, 2007 |  Ali Karim, age 55, a resident of Las Vegas, N.M., since 1972 and former resident of Dhaka, Bangla-desh, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2007, at his home.
He was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on Dec. 20, 1951, to A.F. Abdul Karim and Kaniz Hafeza Khatoow.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Mumtez Karim and Ejaz Karim.
He survived by his only son Zachary S. Karim and his former wife, Angelica Karim, both of Las Vegas N.M., and by his sisters Laila Karim, wife of the late Abdul Wazid of Dhaka Bangladesh, Seifia Karim, wife of K. Ouamsuddin of Dhaka Bangladesh, Rosy Karim wife of the late Anisul Hussain of Dhaka Bangladesh, Farida Karim wife of the late Wadood Chieudhury of Dhaka Bangladesh, Nargis Karim, wife of Shaheed Rasul of Toronto Canada, Nasrin Karim, wife of Dr. Raisur Rahman of Baltimore Maryland and his brothers Gausal Karim of Dhaka Bangladesh, and Mustaque Karim of Brussels, Belgium.
He attended Notre Dame College and the University of Dhaka in Dhaka, Bangladesh and came to United States soon after where he received a master's degree in business administration from Highlands University in 1974 and a master's in agricultural economics from the University of Wyoming in 1982. In 2006, he received his associate's degree in nursing from Luna Community College.
He worked as a store manager for the K-Mart cooperation and TG&Y, as a budget analyst in the Highway, State Police, Environmental and Treasury departments for the State of New Mexico and as a nurse for Alta Vista Regional Medical Center.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout New Mexico and found many companions throughout the Las Vegas Community who shared his passion.
Services were held on Monday March 12 at the Masonic cemetery, where he was laid to rest.
