Mrs. Pass Batdorf Answers Death Call

Mrs. Pass Batdorf, who has been seriously ill for some time, passed away at 1:15 o'clock this morning at her home at Murray. Mrs. Batdorf has been failing in health for some time and during the past few months she has been unable to leave her bed. Several days ago she suffered a light stroke of paralysis and since then no hope had been given for her recovery.
Mrs. Elizabeth Kapp Batdorf was born on September 2, 1840, in Burk (Berks) County, Pennsylvania, and was a daughter of John and Lydia Kapp. She resided there with her parents and attended the schools in that county. In 1865 she was
united in marriage to Pass Batdorf and they resided in Burk (Berks) County until 1869 when they moved to Wells County (Indiana) and made their home near Murray Mrs. Batdorf's age was 74 years, 11 months, and 5 days.
She is survived by her husband, two children, Mrs. Catherine Miller, of Murray and Mrs. Carrie Gregg, of Marion, and three grandchildren, Mrs. Emory Kirkpatrick of Mlarion, Mrs. Abe Houtz of this county, and Donald Gregg of
Marion. Two brothers also survive, Frank Kapp of this city, and Levi Kapp of Fort Wayne.
Mrs. Batdorf was a devout member of the Lutheran denomination since early childhood and attended services regularly until her advanced age made it impossible for her to do so.
The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at the Murray Christian church, Rev. Overhauser, of Uniondale, officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul's cemetery.
