Kathleen Kapp Blacker, age 54 passed away peacefully on Friday, January 11, 2008 at her home, after a year long battle with cancer.
Kathy was born on September 28, 1953 in Provo, Utah to Jack and Sue Kapp. She graduated from Box Elder High School. After attending BYU for one quarter, she married Rick Blacker and they were sealed in the Ogden Temple. They moved to northeast Brigham City where they raised their four children. They later moved to Perry, Utah in 1996.
Kathy enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grand kids. She also had a love for gardening and spent many hours in her garden. Kathy was loved and respected by all who knew her. She was very involved with the community sports programs and spent several summers teaching youth tennis.
Kathy also had a love for music and wrote several songs. She was active in her church and served in many positions. Her creativity was amazing and she freely gave of her talents for the benefit of others. Kathy had worked for several years in real estate as a Realtor and a Broker. She also spent many years as an Executive Secretary for Brigham City Community Hospital and IHC.
Surviving are her husband Rick, and their four children; Jennifer (Mike) Wilson, St. Anthony, ID, Chet (Angie) Blacker, Perry, Casey (Nicky) Blacker, Perry, and Cody (Sharice) Blacker, Brigham City, 12 grandchildren: Zakary, Dakota, Sadie, Walker, Ashley, Jaiden, Traycer, Sydnie, Sophie, Brevin, Mason, and Brant. She is also survived by her mother, Sue Kapp, Perry and her five brothers and sisters, Kenny Kapp, Sharon Olsen, Jeanette Jeppesen, Jerry Kapp and Shanna McNeely. Her father Jack Kapp preceded her in death.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ashdown, Dr. Dunn, Dr. Goff, The Hospice Staff and all of her nurses that lovingly cared for her.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 14, 2008 at 11:00 a.m., at the Willard LDS Stake Center 685 W. 2250 S. in Perry, UT. Friends and Family may call on Sunday, January 13th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Myers Mortuary 205 S. 100 E., and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 14th at the Willard Stake Center.
