Gladys Maxine Kapp Beatty, 83, of Spring Church, passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Alle-Kiski Medical Center in Natrona Heights. She was born Feb. 8, 1929, in New Kensington, the daughter of the late Curtis W. and Stella Mae Fuller Kapp. Gladys was a graduate of New Kensington High School and employed at Beatty's Plumbing and Heating. She was a member of the Boiling Springs Presbyterian Church in Spring Church, Order of the Eastern Star Freeport Chapter No. 179, Apollo/Spring Church Sportsman Club Women's Association and the Roaring Run Water Association. Gladys enjoyed needlepoint and embroidering, loved to work outdoors in her garden and with her flowers. She especially enjoyed her trips to camp in Cameron County, where she took pleasure in watching the wildlife. She is survived by her daughter, Debi M. Vasbinder and her husband, Tim, of Bradford Woods; her son, Ray W. Beatty, of Spring Church; and a brother, Harry Kapp and his wife, Dorothy, of Arizona. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William W. Beatty, in 2009; a brother, Bill Kapp; and a sister, Helen Sommers. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, in the KELLY L. CORRIDONI FUNERAL HOME, 1916 Moore Ave., North Apollo. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2012, at Boiling Springs Presbyterian Church at with the Rev. Terri Swails officiating. Additional visitation will take place at the church one hour prior to funeral services beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be private.
