Albert Kaplan, a man of strong faith, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and a friend to many, departed this life early October 31, after a losing battle with cancer. Al served our country for more than 56 years in the Army as a Sergeant First Class during and after Vietnam. He later retired as an immigration officer. While with the INS, he was elected union president. He was always ready to share a story to anyone that would lend an ear and he enjoyed traveling with his wife. Al was a stranger to no one and left an impact on each person he met. He will be missed and never forgotten. A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 10:00am at St. Ann's Catholic Church in DeBary. A Private family interment will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Al is survived by his devoted wife Christine; sons Rick, Steven and Christopher; daughters Lisa (Colin) and Samantha; step-daughter Tonya; and eight grandchildren.
