JOHN FRANKLIN KANTZ

John Kantz died at 5:25 o'clock last evening at the home of his son, Louis Kantz, 2500 Ferry Street. His death being caused by a complication of disease. He was born on August 19, 1852, and was a son of Lucas & Dorothea Kantz. His entire life was spent in Lafayette. He was a man of excellent character and was a good citizen. He was honest and industrious and was a devoted husband and father. He is survived by a widow and the following children; Frank Kantz and Mrs. Robert Morris of Ontario, Canada; William W.
Kantz of Lima O; Mrs. A.J. Schofield of Santa Maria, CA; Mrs Cliford Chapman of Indianapolis; Esther, Louis, Harvey, Oliver and Omega Kantz of this city. He is also survived by his father, three sisters and six brothers. The funeral will be conducted from the residence some time tomorrow and the interment will be made in Springvale cemetery.
His marriage to Catharine Hill in Carroll County, Indiana was on August 22, 1873. Eleven children were born to this couple.
