Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in East Mausoleum Chapel in Memorial Park Cemetery with Brother Tommy Ewing of 10th Avenue Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel, 5400 S. Bell St.
Alpine was born Jan. 17, 1919, in Athens to Tom and Eunice Kale. She married Alfred Beard in 1946 in Tucumcari, N.M., and was happily married until he preceded her in death in 2005.
They were longtime residents of Amarillo and members of 10th Avenue Methodist Church, where she was involved in UMW and other ministries important to her faith.
Mrs. Beard retired from food service at Caprock High School, where she touched the lives of many students and staff. She was very artistic and loved to crochet and paint. She and Al always treasured family times with their brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
Survivors include a brother, Tom Kale of Thornton; a sister, Helen Nicholson of Canyon; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Tom Beard and Jan Frisbee, both of Amarillo, and Mike Wardlow of Canyon.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
