Parker N. Kahalley passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at his residence. He was born on January 18, 1929 in Bay Minette, Alabama to Joseph and Lydia Kahalley. A lifelong resident of Mobile, he graduated from Murphy High School; then served in the military where he was stationed overseas. He returned home and began working in the family business, Joachim Street Grocery, which he operated with his brother Joe, for the next 55 years, until they retired in 2001. Parker was a Charter Member of the Lebanese American Club of Mobile; and an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He was a kind, loving, and generous person who touched the lives of everyone who knew him. Parker loved spending time with his family and friends and he especially enjoyed his home on West Beach in Gulf Shores. Parker was preceded in death by his brother Joseph C. Kahalley and sister Eloise Kahalley Davis. He is survived by one niece Johanna K. Anton (Dave) of San Mateo, CA; and 4 nephews Bennie M. Davis, Jr. (Margarita) of Atlanta, GA and Joseph H. Davis of Spanish Fort, AL, David A. Kahalley (Aiveen) of Spanish Fort, AL and Danny H. Kahalley (Lisa) of Houston, TX and many friends who affectionately knew and loved him as Uncle Parker. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 26 at 9:30 a.m. at Pine Crest Cemetery, 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, AL followed by a Celebration of Life Service for all family and friends at 11:00 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2921 Airport Boulevard, Mobile, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Westminster Presbyterian Church, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , or your favorite charity .
