Charlotte Klass Kaeding Obituary
Bland Courier - October 25, 1907
"The tolling of the bell Wednesday morning proclaimed to those who did not already know that death has claimed one of the good old ladies of this community - The wife of John Kaeding, whose home is north of Bland. Death was not unexpected, as she has been very low for three weeks, yet to the bereaved relatives the call home was not mellowed, for it means the lost to Mr. Kaeding of a most devoted companion and to the children the loss of a mother who was ever faithful to them.

Mrs. Kaeding had been a sufferer for years from heart trouble, but she bore her affliction patiently, having that comfort which is inherent in the true Christian. At 10 o'clock Tuesday night her spirit took its flight.

Funeral services were held from the home Thursday forenoon, and then at the German M.E. church in Bland, conducted by Rev. O.M. Brinkmann in German, and assisted by Rev. H. Miller and Rev. J. P. Dillon in English.

The services were very impressive, made especially so by the esteem in which deceased was held by a wide acquaintance, for to all who knew her she was a good, kind, motherly woman, and her work among the sick and afflicted will never be forgotten. Interment was in the Union cemetery.

Charlotte Klose was born in Biel, Lippe Deptmolt, German, 62 years ago. In her youth she came to this country, and 41 years ago married to John Kaeding. To this union seven children were born, one being dead. Those living are Sam, Sophia, Mary, Henry, Minnie and John. She has been a member of the church for more than forty years.

All the people of the community sympathize with the bereaved in their sad loss."
