Stephen Krebsbach was born in Germany on August 8, 1947 (sic), and died at Lawrence, Nebr., on July 28, 1931, aged 83 years, 11 months and 20 days. On November 20, 1870, he was married in Germany and in 1879 with his wife and children he emigrated to the United States, making a home in Saline county (sic). After five years residence near Crete he moved with his family to Nuckolls county (sic), settling on the farm near Lawrence, which remained his home until retirement to town several years ago. The deceased is survived by two sons John and Joseph and one daughter, Mrs. John Beyke, all of Lawrence; thirty-five grand-children and seven great-grand children. The wife and mother passed away at Lawrence last July 16th; one son and one daughter passed away in infancy, another son, Fred was called about six years ago, and one daughter, Mrs. Stephen Schutte, died during the influenza epidemic several years ago. Funeral services were held at Sacred Heart church (sic) last Friday morning at 8 o'clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Chas. A. Becker, and burial was made in the Catholic cemetery. The funeral was largely attended, estifying to the esteem and respect in which the deceased was held. - Lawrence (From The Locomotive)
