Mildred L. Jury Dooley, 90, Rock Island, formerly of Minonk, died at 2:08 p.m. Friday (Sept. 21, 2012) at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island.

Mildred Lucile Jury was the only child of John Lee and Amanda Alice Griffith Jury. Mildred was born on July 24, 1922, on the family farm east of Minonk, grew up there and lived most of her adult life there.
She crocheted, quilted and was a skilled seamstress, sewing most of the clothes for herself and her children. She was a Girl Scout leader and an active member of Home Extension and the church Women's Mission Society. When her children were older, she worked in Minonk at the Kurrle's Department Store and the Vallow Photography Studio.
