MARY FITZGERALD JUNTA

A rosary will be recited at the Caruso Funeral Home in Pittsburg at 8 o'clock tonight for Mrs. Mary Fitzgerald Junta who died at her home, 514 Black Diamond Street, Pittsburg, Sunday after a lengthy illness.

A Requiem Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Peter Martyr Catholic Church in Pittsburg, followed by interment in Saint Joseph's Cemetery in San Pablo.

Mrs. Junta, 94, was a native of Skibbereen, County Cork, Ireland, and was related to President John Fitzgerald Kennedy on the maternal side of his family.

She came to the United States, settling in San Francisco in 1888, and in 1905 married the late John A. Junta who subsequently became an early-day city councilman in Pittsburg.

Survivors include a son, J.H. Dempsey, a former owner of the Hickmott Cannery, Antioch; two daughters, Mrs. William Griffin of Pittsburg and Mrs. Richard G. Bajada of Tracy, and four grandchildren, John J. and Leo A. Dempsey of Antioch, and Richard and Sandra Bajada of Tracy.

She was the great-grandmother of Patrick T., Joan A., and Kathleen P. Dempsey, all of Antioch.
