Francis was born in Indiana the second child and son of Stephen and Sarah Julian. They resided in Watseka Illinois for a number of years then came to Crawford County Wisconsin where Sarah's parents lived on a farm on the same ridge as this cemetery. Francis contracted pneumonia in both lungs which resulted in his death in 1885. He was buried here and later his grandparents, Luther and Laura Chadwick and an aunt Lydia Chadwick Green would be buried beside him. Francis cause of death was verified by his death records. He was never married.---His marker was photographed in the early 1980s and was facing the opposite direction as it is today and can no longer be read due to weathering. A cemetery care taker turned his stone around.
