Ira M. Judd, Sr., 83, a former resident of this city for many years, died at Firmin Desloge Hospital in St. Louis Saturday afternoon, where he had been a patient for the past month. He had been ill for several months, death being due to complications.
Mr. Judd was born in Christian County on April 8, 1856. He married the former Miss Appolina Utechtt, who preceded him in death in 1931. For the past 12 years he had been residing in Desoto, Mo., and previous to that in St. Louis.
Surviving are four children, Ira Judd, Jr., St. Louis; George F. Judd, Edwardsville; Mrs. Ruth M. Buddie, Fayette, Mo., and Kenneth P. Judd, Desoto. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; four sisters and one brother. The sisters and brother are Mrs. J.E. Hillskotter and Mrs. Estelia Hickerson of Edwardsville; Mrs. Henry Horney of Tacoma, Wash., Mrs. George Richmond of Kansas City and J.B. Judd of Granite City.
Funeral services have not been definite arranged, but will be held from the Straube Funeral Home, where the body will be.
Pallbearers at the funeral held at St. Boniface Catholic Church were John Judd, James Judd, Francis Judd, Ralph Judd, Lee Kensinger and Sid Pinkerton.
