HOYTSVILLE- Leon M. Judd, 78, passed away Saturday, December 19, 1998, at his home in Hoytsville, Utah, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Leon was born May 7, 1920, in Peoa, Utah, to Thomas William and Katherine Sisa Marchant. He graduated from North Summit High School in 1938. Following an LDS mission to the Western States, Leon married Helen Crittenden on December 2, 1943, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He was a faithful member of the LDS Church, serving in various callings throughout the years. He taught his family through his extraordinary example. Leon was self-employed as a farmer and rancher and was best known for his quiet, hard-working manner and sense of humor. His lifetime of service to others will be remembered by all.
Surviving are his wife, Helen C. Judd; three daughters and their spouses, Dianne and Kent Wilde, Roma and SteverJenkins, of Hoytsville, UT; JaNae and Sam Blonquist of Coalville, UT; a sister, Reva (Harold) Davis of Provo, UT; two brothers, William M. (Gloria) Judd, of Wanship, UT; and Donald M. (Louise B.) Judd of Hoytsville, UT; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson Gary R. Jenkins.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 1998, at 1 p.m. at the Hoytsville church. Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary in Coalville, Utah, Tuesday, December 22, 1998, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday at the church, one hour prior to services. Interment, Hoytsville Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
