DONALD G. JOSSELYN Our father, Donald Josselyn, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2011 in Riverside, California at the age of eighty-seven. Born in Rochester, Minnesota on November 23, 1923 to Wilbur and Lois Josselyn, Donald was the eldest of six siblings. Predeceased by his parents and brother, Wilbur Josselyn, he is survived by sisters; Lorene Lovan (Robert, deceased) of Riverside, Shirley Heim (Richard, deceased) of Claremont, Mary (Walter) Klock of Riverside, and brother Frederick (Elizabeth) Josselyn of Claremont. The family moved by train to Southern California in 1926, eventually settling in Riverside. He graduated from Poly High School in 1942. In 1946 he married Beverly Watson, who passed away in 1991. Together they raised a family of five including; Donna (Frederick) Wolfner, and David (Mary) Josselyn of Riverside, Peggy (Ronald) DeVoe of Big Bear City, John (Kathy) Josselyn of Thousand Oaks, and Roger (Wendy) Josselyn of Corona. Six grandchildren, Amy (David), Matthew (Stephanie), Jeffrey (Jennifer), Lessa (Roger), Bryon, and James, as well as three great grandchildren also survive him. With Dad's experience rebuilding aircraft engines during World War II, he was among the first hired when Rohr Aircraft Corporation opened an assembly plant in Riverside. He worked there thirty-six years, retiring in 1988. Aircraft and flying were lifelong interests. Dad built and flew models competitively in his youth, then general aviation planes as an adult. He could recall information about unique aircraft and events whenever the conversation turned that direction, as it most often did. But the center of his life was family. He supported and encouraged our activities and took great pride in the successes of his children and grandchildren. We also thank Janette Isby and her staff at Courtland Villa for the care and attention given to Dad during his time with them. Graveside Services will be held at Olivewood Cemetery, Riverside, on Friday, August 19, at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice. Arrangements under the direction of Acheson & Graham Mortuary (951) 688-1221
