Marie Pearl (Fenton) Jose was born on April 28, 1921, in Fairmont, MN, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Kelly) Fenton. She received her education from Fairmont Public Schools.
On August 4, 1940, Marie was united in marriage to Donald W. Jose in Nashville Township, Martin County, MN. Together the couple made their home on a farm near Granada, MN, and were blessed with three children, Donna, Darrell and Sandy. Marie worked hard taking care of the family home and also took great pride in working side by side on the farm with Don. They farmed together for 42 years, retiring in 1982. In June 2000, Marie and Don moved to Fairmont.
Marie was a member of the Congregational Church in Granada and also was active in the Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont where as a child she was baptized and confirmed. In her spare time, Marie loved playing cards, working on puzzles, and reading. She loved the outdoors and looked forward to camping trips and long days spent fishing with family and friends. Following her retirement, Marie enjoyed following her great-grandchildren and cheering them on at their sporting events. She was a tough farm wife who was never known to complain. She always wanted her family to know that; "I am alright."
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Donna Hovick and her husband, Eldon of Armstrong, IA, Darrell Jose and his wife, Rita of Mankato, MN, and Sandy Clow of Lewisville, MN; grandchildren, Dawn Hovick, Debbie Irmiter and her husband, Gary, Doni Hovick and his wife, Kristi, and Lana Marie Jose Eccles and her husband Cliff "Boon" Eccles Jr; great grandchildren, Danielle, Alyssa, Micayla, Dylan, Wyatt, Luke, Elizabeth, Mitchell, Aliyah, Jozie, Alex, Rachel, and Alexis; half-brothers, Jim Mathiason and Ronald Mathiason; half-sister-in-law, Kathy Mathiason; a sister-in-law, Marlene Jose; as well as many other extended family and friends.
