The heavens are rejoicing at the return of a successful spirit. Janet Louise Jorgensen Allen passed peacefully from this earth to the next existence Thursday evening at her home in Fielding, Utah. She lived seventy-seven successful years teaching children, youth and adults that the Savior's principle of love and caring really can be incorporated into one's life.
Janet put her complete heart and soul into all things she ever attempted. Highlights include nineteen years as an elementary school teacher; many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, both ward and stake; as a missionary in Nauvoo and Carthage, Illinois; and an officiator in the Logan Temple. She was chosen valedictorian at all levels of education; which included her hometown of Ephraim's primary and secondary schools; Snow College, and Utah State University.
She will be incredibly missed here by her seven living children and their eternal companions: Athena (Scott) Lloyd, Cedar Hills, Utah; Matthew (Joann), Fielding, Utah; Toni (Mark) Johnson; Layton, Utah; Eric, Yokohama, Japan; Byron (Heidi), South Ogden, Utah; Alys (Scott) McKnight, Wilsonville, Oregon; Ruth (Wes) Baumgartner, Bozeman, Montana; one sister Margo Adams, Orem, Utah; and her own eternal companion Gerald L "Jerry" Allen; plus twenty grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Greeting her as she changed her existence were an infant son Jonathan; parents James and Grace Jorgensen; a sister Sandra Christensen; a brother Kent; in-laws Earle and Delores Allen.
A funeral will be Tuesday (Sept. 24) at the Fielding Stake Center at 11:00 a.m. 4375 W. 15600 N. Fielding, UT. There will be a viewing Monday, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and prior to the service Tuesday 9:00 – 10:30 a.m.
