She attended college in Kentucky and at the beginning of WW II she went to work for McQuay Norris in Providence, Rhode Island on the production line of materials needed for the military. It was here she met her husband, Charles (Charlie) Albert Bloomingburgh. They wed and moved to St. Louis, Mo.where he was employed by Grinnell, Inc. and then to Collinsville, Illinois where Charlotte Ann was born. In 1951 they moved to Herrin and had 3 more children Gary Albert, Danny Lynn, and Cheryl Jane. Venita was a member of the 1st Christian Church in Herrin and taught Sunday school there for a number of years. She and Charlie separated in later years and he re-located to Chicago where he died.
