Madge J. Jeffery, 92, passed away March 25, 2010, at a local care center after a short illness. She was born April 29, 1917, in Milo, Idaho, to Arthur J. and Cora Mae Jordan. She attended local schools and graduated from Idaho Falls High School.
On Oct. 24, 1940, she married Wayne E. Jeffery. They worked together on the family farm in New Sweden until his death in 1985.
She was an accomplished artist, enjoyed collecting and dressing porcelain dolls, and was a talented seamstress. She also enjoyed reading and was an avid Bible student. She researched her family history and made wonderful scrapbooks for the family.
She was active as a 4-H leader and served for many years on the Bonneville Country Fair Board. She was a member of the New Sweden Grange, the New Sweden Pleasure Riders and Needlecraft Club. She was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church and active in the United Methodist Women.
Survivors include her daughters, Susan (Blair) Nelson and Shauna (Bill) Gammon; her grandchildren, C.B. (Aimee) Nelson, Sarah (Brad) Vollman, Jeffery (fiancee, Ellen Boyea) Gammon, Robert Gammon; and four great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Wayne; daughter, Joan; and sister, Marjorie Jeffery, preceded her in death.
