William M. Joosten, 600 Penn avenue NW, Cedar Rapids resident 15 years, a retired Rock Island engineer, died Friday morning at his home of a heart ailment. Born Jan. 20, 1882, Mr. Joosten retired in 1948 after 47 years' service.
Surviving are his wife, Julia Olmstead Joosten, to whom he was married at Manchester Jan. 27 ,1905; a son Wayne, of Owatonna, Minn., and two granddaughters.
Affiliated with St. James Methodist church, he was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers No. 18 at Manly, and the National Assiciation of Retired Veteran Railway Employes, Unit 29.
