Carolina Albertus Jonson was born in Linkoping, Sweden, January 15, 1836. In the year 1866 she was united in marriage to Karl Blom. To this union was born one child, Oscar, who died at the age of nine years. In 1867 she migrated with her husband to America. They located in Stratford the same year. In 1868 she was bereaved by the death of her husband. In 1871 she was joined in marriage again to her now bereaved husband, Andrew E. Bocklund. This union was blessed with two daughters, Mrs. Jonas Young and Mrs. Nels Westrum, both of whom live near Stratford. She also leaves thirteen grandchildren besides a host of friends to mourn her death.
She passed away May 17, 1917 aged 81 years, 4 months, and 2 days. She was always a kind and loving mother, a woman who did her best by her neighbors. Her death marks the passing of another hardy pioneer, who with her husband braved the wilds of a new country and made a home there.
Funeral services over the remains were held from the family home east of town Sunday and the remains laid to rest in Oakwood Cemetery, Rev. V.H. Sword officiating.
