Helen Elizabeth Cantley, 84, of the 700 block of Marvin Avenue, died March 10, 2000, at DePaul Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was a dedicated homemaker, a graduate of Maury High School and was a lifelong resident of Norfolk. For the past 50 years, Mrs. Cantley was a devoted member of Colonial Heights Church of Christ.
She was married to the late Cerney L. Cantley for 57 years and is survived by a son and two daughters, Dan Cantley and his wife, Judy, of Norfolk, Jean Rawls and her husband, Mac, of Virginia Beach and Shirley Cantley of Atlanta, Ga.; her brother, William B. Jones and his wife, Josie; a sister, Marjorie Bonney; a granddaughter, Susan Rawls, and a grandson, Michael Rawls, also survive her.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Colonial Heights Church of Christ by Pastor Kenneth Gosnell. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the Colonial Heights Church of Christ Youth Ministry.
