Edgar Lee Jones, 70, of Groesbeck, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2014, at the Limestone Medical Center in Groesbeck. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at Porter Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend C. Darron Killingsworth officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Teague. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home.
Edgar Lee was born in Teague, Texas, to the late Edgar W. and Ethel Martin Jones. He was in the U.S. Army and worked in the oil fields. He loved to research his Indian heritage and playing his guitar. He married Bonnie Tull on August 29, 1992 and they were married 22 years. Ed was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He will be truly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by grandsons, Matthew Lynn Sanford and Justin Lynn Heath; great-nephew, James Wesley Williams, Jr.; and son-in-law, Billy Richard Sutton.
