Rites Monday For Mrs. Brown
Funeral services will be held Monday for Mrs. Olivia Jones Brown, widow of the late Frank C. Brown, and widely beloved Decatur resident, who passed away early Saturday following an extended illness.
Mrs. Brown, born April 11, 1873, in Montgomery County, Kentucky, removed to Decatur when she was 16 years old and had made her home here since, her kindly, gracious manner endearing her to a large circle of friends. Mrs. Brown had been in ill health for the past year. Death came Saturday morning at 3:30 o'clock at her home in the Murdock Apartments on Canal Street.
The deceased is survived by three sons, Paul, Lewis and Frank of Decatur; a sister, Mrs. Harrison T. Gill of Decatur, and the following grandchildren; Mrs. Roy Fite Jr, Paul J Brown Jr, Gene Brown, Carlton Brown, Russell Brown and Frank C. Brown; three great grandchildren.
The body will remain at Brown Funeral home until Monday at 10:45 a.m. when the cortege will leave for the First Methodist Church for services at 11 o'clock conducted by Dr. Otis Kirby, the pastor, assisted by Rufus Underwood, minister of the Grant Street Church of Christ. Interment will follow in city cemetery.
The following will be pallbearers: Rex Pou, William Blackwell, Jack Pitts, Jim Fite, Frank Stone, James King, Leo Wright and Noble Russell.

Olive Jones Brown, of Murdock Apartments, Canal St. Decatur, died July 16, 1949, at her residence. She was born in Mt. Sterling, Kentucky.
She was the widow of the late Frank C. Brown.
Burial was in Decatur Cemetery. Cause of death was cancer in the right eye.
Informant was Lewis C. Brown.
