Jones was killed in action when his plane crashed on 5-12-1968 while serving as a Strategic Intel Officer {9300} G-2 Section with the 52nd ND MIlitary Intel Dept. of the Americal Division. Lt. Jones started his tour of Vietnam on December 12, 1867.
He is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Jack E.Jones of 137 West Broadway Street, Shelbyville, Indiana, and the husband of Mrs. Nancy J. Jones of 172 Lawton Road, Riverside, Illinois, and he enlisted with the Army on 4-13-1966.
Awards: Purple Heart Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with One Service Star, Vietnam Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal.
