Daughter of Claude and Ida (Boyls) Jones, Ada Mae was born in Belton (Bell County), Texas on September 7, 1905. She married William Elmo Faubion on October 7, 1929. They had one son, Kenneth Franklin Faubion, born on September 18, 1934.

Ada Mae was an educator of note, retiring in 1974 after 39 years of service as an elementary school teacher. On August 24, 1975, the School Board of the Leander Independent School District dedicated the newly completed Ada Mae Faubion Elementary School in her honor. The school is located in Cedar Park, Williamson County, Texas.
