Anne was born July 24, 1928, in Kershaw, South Carolina, daughter of the late Frederic Stephen Jones and Pearl Marie Raley. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker for 68 years. She provided love and encouragement for Ira throughout his medical training, private practice in Orangeburg, S.C., and through his career as a navy physician. She had a passion for British literature, especially the writings of Samuel Pepys, Lord Tennyson, and William Wordsworth. Anne was a Bible scholar, a devoted Christian, and a lover of American history. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Orangeburg, S.C. and attended Winthrop University. Among her loves were her Orangeburg Bridge Club and the Franke Community at Seaside.
