Grace Elizabeth Jackson, 102, of Lee's Summit, MO, passed away November 25, 2010 at John Knox Village Care Center. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 30, at 11 a.m., at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 6401 Wornall Terrace, KCMO. Visitation is from 10-11 a.m., at the church. Burial at Forest Hill Cemetery, KCMO. Contributions are suggested to the St. Andrew's Church Music Fund or the John Knox Village Foundation. Betty was born January 8, 1908 to William & Sadie Jones in Kansas City, KS. She is the widow of John R. Jackson (Commerce Bank of KC); and is survived by four generations of nieces and nephews. Betty worked for Wolferman's from 1931 to 1973 when the business closed. She was in the Auditing Department from 1931-1934; Payroll Supervisor from 1934-1942; Treasurer/Manager of Wolferman Credit Union from 1934- 1961; Personnel Director and Office Manager from 1942-1961; Control and Corporate Secretary from 1961-1972. Between 1972 and 1974 she served as the officer in closing out all Wolferman Enterprises, which consisted of: Fred Wolferman, Inc., Fred Wolferman Building Co., Wolferman Family Foundation, & Wolferman Brands (Wholesale Division). From 1974 to 2004, she was a Free Lance Accountant, including with Atronic Alarms. Betty was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church since 1936 and sang in the choir for 17 years. She also played piano for the "Music Makers" at John Knox Village for a number of years. She served on the first board of Directors of Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Kansas City. In 1938, she negotiated for Wolferman's, the first Blue Cross/Blue Shield contract for a Kansas City employer, and therefore held card number one. She was later honored to be the Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Kansas City's "#1 Customer". She served as President of the Business and Professional Women's Guild of the Church. She was a board member of the Personnel Management Association in 1959, and Controller's Association in 1962. She was President of the Altraussa Club of KC from 1972-1973. She is a former member of the Presidents and Past Presidents Club, Women's Chamber of Commerce, & Advertising and Sales Executive's Club.
