Robert W. Jones, 64, of Fort Bayard passed away Thursday Oct. 5 in Fort Bayard Medical Center. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Bright Funeral Home. In accordance with Mr. Jones' wishes no services are planned at this time. Mr. Jones was born Jan. 19,1936 in Childress, Texas. He was the son of Ralph Jones and Juanita Jumper Jones. Mr. Jones survived by his sister Mary VanBuskirk of Silver City; four nieces Christine Kirk of Phoenix, Shelly Savorillo of Tucson, Ariz., Lisa Beck of Las Cruces and Debbie Keys of Silver City; one nephew Mark VanBuskirk of Long Beach, Calif.; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Jerry "Pete" Jones in 1978; his mother Juanita Jones in 1989; and his father Ralph Jones in 1990. Mr. Jones was retired from Phelps Dodge. Bright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
