Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at McCabe General Baptist Church in Flora with Reverend Virgil Slater officiating. The family will greet friends at a luncheon at McCabe Church Hall immediately following the services. Frank & Bright Funeral Home in Flora is in charge of arrangements.
Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery in Louisville.
Mr. Jones was born on June 5, 1928, in Clay County, the son of William Henry and Ruth Mae (Jones) Jones.
He married Sarah L. West on December 21, 1955, in Noble. She survives.
He was a machinist for Valley Steel in Flora, retiring in 1993. He was a past member of Flora Gun Club. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and camp hosting at Forbes State Park for the past six years.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Sarah Jones, of Flora; two daughters, Ruth Ann Weiler and her husband, Doug, of Clay City, and Paula Jean Rahn, of Flora; six grandchildren, Angie, Amanda and Layton Weiler and J.D., Brandy and Pamela Rahn; one great-grandchild, Ronni Rahn; a sister, Anna Mae Bennett, of Mountain Home, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Henry.
Memorials may be made to Clay County Hospice or Clay County Cancer Support Group.
