Etta Simmons Joiner, 78, died Friday afternoon (May 16, 2003) at Satilla Care Center after an extended illness. She is a native of Appling County, but has lived most of her life in Waycross. She is retired as a secretary for Farm Credit Service. She was also a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
She is the daughter of the late Charlie Simmons and Rena Aldridge Simmons. She is also the wife of the late Bruner J. Joiner.
Mrs. Joiner is survived by her son, Kenny Joiner (fiancee Sue) of Waycross; and two grandchildren, Jessica and Jeremy Joiner.
A funeral is to be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
