In the United Nations Memorial Cemetery in Pusan, Korea, stands a memorial to Commonwealth soldiers whose burial places are unknown. The inscription reads:

ON THIS MEMORIAL ARE INSCRIBED THE NAMES OF MEN FROM BRITAIN, CANADA, AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND AND SOUTH AFRICA WHO DIED IN THE KOREAN WAR AND HAVE NO KNOWN GRAVE. THEY DIED WITH MEN OF OTHER COUNTRIES FIGHTING TO UPHOLD THE IDEALS OF THE UNITED NATIONS

Commemorated on Page 34 of the Korean War Book of Remembrance.
Lance Corporal William Edward JOHNSTONE is also remembered with honour on the Korea Veterans National Wall of Remembrance in Meadowvale Cemetery, Brampton, Ontario, Canada.
He is also commemorated on the Nova Scotia Korea War Memorial with his fellow Nova Scotians who lost their lives in the Korean War [the Memorial is located at Pleasant and Parade Streets in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia; it was unveiled and dedicated in a ceremony on 16 August 2003].
