William Johnston died at his farm, in the town of Willow Springs, about eight miles southeast of Mineral Point, last Sunday morning, the 5th inst., aged 68 years past. Mr. Johnston was a brother of Mrs. Clowney and Mrs. Padon of this city. He had been a resident of this vicinity for many years, and his conduct was such as command the respect and confidence of all. He was a practical, consistent christian, and deeply interested in church and Sunday school work.
Three sons and two daughters survive him. The remains were deposited in Graceland cemetery on Tuesday, by the side of those of his wife who died about eight years ago, with services by Rev. Wm. Croft.
