Myrtle Johnston, a homemaker for 50 years, died at Kaiser Permanente Walnut Creek Medical Center. She was 78.
The native of Lockesburg, Ark., lived in Nevada before moving to Antioch 20 years ago. She enjoyed gardening and cooking.
She is survived by her daughters, Ernestine Danielson of Pittsburg and Linda Johnston of Antioch; sons, Wayne Jr. and Bobby Johnston, both of Martinez; sisters, Floy Cannon of Lockesburg and Ella Harrison of Antioch; brother, Ernest Summerhill of Phoenix; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Her husband, Wayne, and daughter, Rhonda Phelps, died previously.
