Mildred Faye Johnson-Acord, 85, of Oceana, WV gained her wings on Wednesday January 29, 2014 at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV.

She was born March 21, 1928 in Clear Fork, WV, the oldest daughter of the late Conrad Mack "M.C." Johnson (1898-1966) and Louise "Lula" Bailey-Johnson (1904-1979).

Mildred was a homemaker, a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW 8364, Wyoming County EXT Homemakers, Oceana Band Boosters, member of the Toneda Missionary Baptist Church, and the Missionary Women's. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and Aunt. With her gift of gab she never met a stranger.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years Lloyd Clinton Acord (1923-2001) whom she married on March 10, 1947 in Oceana, Wyoming County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Wyoming County, WV, 1947, Page 315, Application Date: March 5, 1947); a son Danny Lee Acord (1951-2006); sister Narcissa Hatfield (1935-Deceased); and brothers James Johnson (1924-1990) and Darrell Burman Johnson (1932-1997).

Survivors include her son Lloyd Curtis Acord and wife Judy Acord of Ghent, four daughters Brenda Louise Acord-Lovins and her husband Michael Lovins of Oceana, LaDonna Sue Acord of the home, Doris Ann Acord-Reed and her husband Mickey Reed of Bolt, and Bonita Faye Acord-Sayre and her husband Douglas Sayre of Daniels; a daughter-in-law Terry Acord of Oceana; siblings Wayville Johnson (B. 1925) and his wife Carol of Bolt, Conrad Johnson (B. 1927) of Hoquaim, WA, Doyle Johnson (B. 1929) and his wife Phyllis, Frankie Johnson (B. 1933) of Des-Plains, IL, Virginia Johnson-Stafford (B. 1936), Genevie Johnson-Laxton (B. 1938), and Patricia Johnson all of Oceana; grandchildren Rita Atha, Todd Lovins, Jennifer Bragg, Steven Lovins, Christie Cline, Cynthia Nutter, Katrina Acord, Jessica Reed, Jared Reed, Travis Surratt, Makaila Lovins, Anita Stewart, Aren Dodge, Jayna Sayre; great grandchildren Lloyd Nickolas Acord, Hannah Atha, Amber Nutter, David Nutter, Brooke Nutter, Brenton Lovins, Brooklyn Lovins, Keisha Crum, Abby Crum, Tori Crum, Austin Cline, Caitlin Cline, Cassidy Cline, Trevor Birchfield, Kylee Birchfield, Logan Surratt, Thomas Stewart, and Alison Dodge; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Friends and family will serve as pallbearers. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday February 4, 2014 at the Toneda Missionary Baptist Church, Kopperston, WV, with Pastor James Hamrick, and Rev. Jerry Cook officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 5-9:00 PM on Monday February 3, 2014 at the church.
