DEATH NOTICE: The Manti Messenger, Friday 14 November 1913:

The intention of Charles Johnson, colored, to murder his wife and then end his own life resulted successfully Sunday morning, when he died at an Ogden hospital at 7 oclock, following the death of his wife at 9:30 o'clock Saturday night. Johnson was jealous of his wife.
His death certificate says that he was about 45 years of age, occupation Chef, Dining Car, SP Ry. Parents unknown.
There is a death certificate for his wife that gives her name as Willma. Parents: GW Pitts & Elva Johnson. She was 32 years old and her body was removed to Little Rock Arkansas for burial.
