Charlie Melvin Johnson was born September 6, 1885 to James and Annie (Jordan) Johnson. His father James was a farmer. Charlie was the 5th child born to the couple. Some time later in his life he changed his birth year to 1880, perhaps to receive an earlier old age pension. Charlie farmed and worked construction much of his life so an early retirement may have been a necessity due to some disability related to his life of hard physical labor. Charlie was married to 1. Evelyn Mae "Polly" Aden, 2. Norma Gowens, 3. Juanita Blount. Not much is known to me of Charlie's life after he left Greene County Missouri other than what I have found researching on ancestry.com.
