Cynthia Kay Johnson, age 57, of Nixa, passed away Friday, March 16, 2012. She was born July 29, 1954, in North Island, California, the daughter of Theodore and Lila (Bath) Johnson.

She was a 1972 graduate of Kickapoo High School in Springfield. Cynthia operated a day care for children from her home while living in Tulsa and also in Sparta. She was an avid Bingo player, had raised Boston Terriers, and enjoyed art work.

Survivors include: Her mother, Lila Johnson, with whom she shared a home for the past 20 years; a daughter, Christie Cochrane and husband Guy, Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; a son, Eric Englind and wife Candace, Tulsa; three grandchildren, Ian Sedlemeyer, Anastacia Vandiver and husband Alx, and Gaige Englind; a great-grandchild, Stormee Vandiver; two sisters Jeri Leonard, Nixa, and Diane Gaddy and husband, J.W., Rogersville; two nieces, Dawn Leonard, and Mindy Flannigan; and a nephew, Ted Gaddy.

Her father, Theodore Johnson, preceded her in death.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 21, in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. A graveside funeral will follow at 2:30 PM in Sparta Cemetery.
