Mr. Carl David Johnson, 77, of Sterlington, passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, at St. Francis Specialty Hospital following a lengthy illness.
His funeral was at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, at First Baptist Church of Sterlington with Rev. J. E. Brown officiating. Interment was in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Visitation was Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Barbara B. Johnson; son, Steven K. Johnson and wife Margaret, of Monroe; grandsons, William Ecklund and wife, Brandi, of Monroe, and Ronald Ecklund of Key West, Fla.; brothers, Arthur B. Johnson and wife, Mary, and Edward G. Johnson and wife, Tommy Sue, all of Monroe; sister, Helen Knebel of Victoria, Texas; two great-grandchildren, Jackson and Sophie Ecklund; numersous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Snoopy.
Pallbearers were Bayou Roofing employees, Isaac
Armstrong, William Ecklund, Perry Harbor, Larry Goldsberry, Willie Jackson and Leon Wilson. Honorary pallbearers were the Adult One Men's Class of First Baptist Church, Sterlington, R. E. Kelly, and Sam Brinson.
