Born in Kentucky on January 11, 1932, she was the daughter of Bob and Sally Johnson.
Jeni was a homemaker and had worked at Sheller Globe, Montpelier, and Gill Bros. Furniture in Albany. She was a member of the former Albany Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed square dancing, quilting, camping, and cooking.
Survivors include her son, Stephen DeVoe (wife, Vanna), Muncie; two brothers, John Johnson and Richard E. Johnson, both of Muncie; four sisters, Barb Kirkland (husband, Jim), Albany, Rosie Marie Spain, Muncie, Peggy Batio, Albany, and Judy Daniel (husband, Charley), Farmland; ten grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; nieces, and nephews.
Her husband of sixty-one years, Max Devoe, died in 2012; also deceased are her parents; two sons, Sid and Dan DeVoe; a grandson, Brandon Pinkston; two brothers, Edward and James Hall Johnson, and two sisters, Myrtie Blevins and Robbie Higginbotham.
Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany, with burial following at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
