HINESVILLE - Bob L. Johnson, 55, died Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at Hospice Savannah after a long illness. He was a native of Glennville, and lived in Hinesville for the past 20 years. He was a retired E/7 after serving 28 years in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. James AME Church in Glennville, and was employed with the Reidsville Correctional facility for 14 years. Surviving are his wife, Debra Johnson of Hinesville; four daughters, Felicia Johnson of Statesboro, Stephanie Harvey of Macon, Oneka (Mark) Mitchell of Vidalia, and Nicole Johnson of Reidsville; one son, Bob Johnson, Jr. of Milledgeville; one stepson, Joseph Palmer of Hinesville; three brothers, Robbie Lee Johnson and Euly Johnson of Glennville, and Remer Johnson of Lakeland, FL; one sister, Betty Tingle of Hyattsville, MD; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 1:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 1, 2009 at Carter Funeral Home Oglethorpe Chapel. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2009 at St. James AME Church in Glennville. Burial will be 3:00 p.m. in Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery with full military honors.
