Marilyn Johnson Battle, 62, of Columbus died Nov. 16, at Vista Care Hospice.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21, at St. Mary's Road United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gerald Goodman officiating and burial following at Evergreen Memory Gardens in Columbus. Visitation will be Friday from 12-6 p.m. at Sconiers Funeral Home in Columbus.
She was born Feb. 21, 1947, in Eufaula to Robert E. and Dorothy L. Brown Johnson. She was the owner and manager of Battle Plumbing Company in Ft. Myers, Fla. and was educated in the public school system of Eufaula.
Daughter Mia W. Jackson preceded her in death.
Survivors include daughter Marlo Nanette Jackson of Brookside; stepdaughter Jessie Mae Battle of Atlanta; stepsons Michael and Tommy Byrd, both of Ft. Myers, Fla.; brothers Robert E. Johnson Sr. of Miami; William H. (Lisa) Johnson of Savannah, Ga.; Ricky L. (Shannon) Florence of College Station, Texas; Scotty J. (Veronica) Johnson of Birmingham; sisters Erma (James M.) Williams of Columbus and Nyya Crenshaw of Birmingham; grandchildren Vincent and Marlon Tarver of Fort Myers, Fla.; Tavish and Xavier Jackson of Birmingham and Shemar Thomas of Brookside and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
