Myrtle Alberta Johnson was the second of four children born to Henry Clay and Nancy Katherine (Johnston) Johnson. Most likely born in Platte Valley, Douglas County, NE, they are found on the 1880 census there with siblings Charles H. & William Eli.
By 1885 they had moved on to Arcadia Precinct, Valley County, NE, with another two more children, George 2 yrs old and Harry born in 1885 who only lived three years.
In 1900, twenty years later, Myrtle is 24 and is living with parents and siblings Charles and George on Ponca Reservation, Noble County, Oklahoma. Her brother William E. is found in Johnson Co., WY.
1910 22 Apr Census Myrtle, Custer, Nebraska, USA, Married 8 yrs, 1ch b/1ch liv; Henry I Hudson 36 MN Fa b OH Mo b VT General farming; Myrtle A Hudson 34 NE NY OH Teaching School; Leah C Hudson 7 NE MN NE. The following year her second child, Dick D is born.
By 1920 she is with her husband, Henry Erving/Irving Hudson, born in Minnesota, and two children, Leah E. 17 and Dick D 9, both born in Nebraska.
Ten years later, in 1930 she is with husband Henry and her mother, Nancy Katherine Johnson, a widow, who is 74 and who dies the next year in 1931, possibly in California.
Myrtle passes in Sacramento, California in 1948 and her husband survives her. Obit submitted by the photographer of the gravestone, Shelly. Published most likely in the Sacramento Bee or Union.
HUDSON--In this city, February 3, 1948, Myrtle Alberta Hudson, wife of Henry I. Hudson of Clarksburg, mother of Mrs. Leah H. Hudson [sic McKindley*] of Stockton and Dick D. Hudson of Sacramento, sister of George E. Johnson of Sacramento, William E. Johnson of Nebraska, grandmother of Jacqulyn and Henryetta Huston of Stockton; a native of Nebraska, aged 71 years.
Friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral today (Thursday) at 1:30 P. M. in the chapel of Harry A Nauman & Son, 2021 28th Street, Interment Odd Fellows Lawn.
As of Dec 2011 no memorial or burial place for her children have been found.
