Virginia M. Hanson, 76, of Tacoma, Washington, died March 23, 1999. She was born in Lake Park, Minnesota, April 11, 1922. Virginia served in the Armed Forces as an RN in WWII. She, her husband David and their family settled in Puyallup in 1950, where she resided as a homemaker ever since. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, David Hanson. She is survived by her sister, Shirley Knox of Santa Rosa, CA; daughters Susan Claypool of San Francisco, CA, and Judith Mace of Seaside, OR; sons Peter and Mark Hanson of Hillsboro, OR; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 pm Sunday, April 18th at the Powers Funeral Home Chapel in Puyallup. No flowers please. The family suggests that donations be made to the Salvation Army in Virginia's name. Arrangements by Powers Funeral Home.
