Emily Minerva Lusena Johnson (a) was born on March 24, 1870 in Williamson County, Illinois, daughter of Andrew "Andy" Johnson and Mary F. Johnson. At birth, she was known as Emily Johnson. By 1880, she was known as Lusena Johnson, age 11, living in Rock Creek, Williamson County, Illinois. Her nickname became "Sena".

She is the sister of Mildred Elisabeth (1852); George 'Thomas' (1858); Sarah Jane (c.1863), Jane (c.1864) and Missouri (1867) Johnson.

On June 20, 1880, the Johnson family was living in Rock Creek, Williamson, Illinois, including parents, Andy, age 60, and Mary, age 50, with their son and 4 daughters all born in Illinois, Thomas, age 21, Sarah J, age 17, Jane, age 16, Missouri, age 14, and Lusena, age 11.

In 1886, Lusena Johnson married Milton Jackson White. Their 9 children of the White family are Tilden Edward "Edd" (1887); Florence Nellie (1889); Emmett (1891); Stella Mae (1894); Cora 'Letha' (1897); Lura 'Sis' Bell (1900); Alma Eugenia (1903); Finis Elchard (1906) and Robbie Leona (1909) White. Her husband, Milton, died in 1915.

On February 22, 1917, she married again to Miles Jefferson Guthrie. He died in 1925. She was known as "Momma G" or "Momma Guthrie" by her grandchildren and family.

In 1930, widowed Lusena was living in District 5, Paris, Lamar County, Texas. On February 13, 1939, Lusena (Johnson) Guthrie, age 68, died with burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Section 28-60-04, Paris, Lamar County, TX.

Virginia (White) Reeves comments in March 2006 email: "Lusena Guthrie was my Dad's (Finis White) mother. Her first husband (the one that she had a lot of children by) was Milton White. Daddy was next to the youngest. She married Mr. Guthrie when Daddy was 10 or 11. Daddy got lots of whippings from him, and he was pretty miserable. He left home (Blossom) when he was 17. Mr. Guthrie was a minister of some very strict fundamental church--and Daddy liked to have fun--so they didn't get along. He (Mr. Guthrie) died before I was born. I was never close to my grandmother on Daddy's side. She died when I was 7. (I never ever saw her smile.) We saw a lot of all the Fullers and they were more like my family. (I guess that is ugly of me!) . . . Virginia (Thompson Jackson) told me that her mom, Letha (White Thompson), said that she (Lusena) played the violin, played for all the city dances, and was such a happy, vibrant woman--I can't imagine that --I never saw her smile!! (that must have been before she married Mr. Guthrie)"
