Barbara Ann Johnson Browning, age 69, wife of Richard E. Browning, of Longwood Ln., passed away Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Conway Medical Center.

Mrs. Browning was born June 24, 1944 in Conway, SC, a daughter of the late Boyd Norton and Flossie Mae Jordan Johnson.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Browning was preceded in death by her grandson, Johnathan Boyd Browning.

Mrs. Browning was employed for many years in the Banking industry in Horry County and also was employed as the Office Manager for the Horry County 6th District Congressional Office. She recently retired as a Supervisor with the Horry County Clerk of Courts office with 16 years of service. Mrs. Browning was a member of Brown Swamp United Methodist Church in Conway. She loved cooking and taking care of others in her community. Mrs. Browning especially loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to her husband are: her children, Todd R. Browning and his wife, Nikki, of Conway, Kelly Browning Barnes and her husband, Billy, also of Conway; her grandchildren, Olivia Browning, Jordyn Barnes, Janie Barnes, and Matthew Browning all of Conway; her brother, Alan "Buddy" Johnson and his wife, Janet, of Conway; her sister, Faye Ledbetter and her husband, Carl, also of Conway; and many special aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at Brown Swamp United Methodist Church with Pastor Neal Woods, Rev. Robin King, and Rev. Randolph Browning officiating.

Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
