FORMER TRAIN EMPLOYEE DEAD
Albert John Johnson, 76, died at his home, 824 Twenty-fourth, early today after a five months' illness of ailments incident to age.
He was born August 11, 1863, in Linderas, Sweden, son of S. Jacob and Anna M. Sandahl Johnson, coming to the United States when he was three years old. He had lived in Ogden for 53 years and at his present address for 37 years. He married Elizabeth D. Thomas in the Logan L.D.S. temple in July, 1889, and she died 43 years ago. On January 7, 1903, he married Mahala Horrocks, who died 15 years ago, in the Salt Lake temple. He filled a mission to Sweden from 1898 to 1900 and was a member of the high priest quorum of the Sixth ward.
In his early life he was in steam railroad service, and later a conductor on the Bamberger electric line. Until recently he was employed by the North Western Mutual Fire association. He was a honorary member of the Order of Railway Conductors.
Surviving are two sons, Harold and Alvin H. Johnson of Ogden, one grandchild, and four brothers, Charles W. and Edward Johnson, Hinsdale, Ill.; Francis T. and Martin E. Johnson, Chicago.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at two p.m. in the L.D.S. Sixth ward by Bishop Lawrence H. Evans. Interment will be in Ogden city cemetery. Friends may call at the Malan mortuary Saturday evening and at the family home Sunday until time of services.
