He was born Sept. 8, 1937 in Holloway, a son of the late Uster Johnson and Alice Simpson Johnson.
He was a retired employer of R& F Coal Company and a member of the Cadiz Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant brother, Randall Johnson.
Surviving are his wife Charlene Shockley Johnson; two sons, Richard A. II of Cadiz and Christopher of Holloway; two daughters, Rhonda Cunningham of Morristown and Roxanne Hooper of Columbus; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Nancy Sheppard of Holloway, Joann Osborne of Kentucky and Sherri Kramer of Deersville.
Calling hours are Sunday, April 6, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland Funeral Home, Cadiz, where services will be held Monday, April 7, 2003 at 11 a.m. Burial follows at Moorefield Cemetery, Moorefield.
