Since 1946, Florence was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church where she actively served as Head of the Missionary Group, in the Starlight Band, and for 30 years in the choir. She also found joy in preparing baskets for those sick and homebound. She worked for 20 years at the U.S. Army Finance & Accounting Center. Florence was the widow of Thomas Blackmon, who died in 2002. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Shirley Johnson Vaughn.
Services will be at noon on Saturday, January 19 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1137 North Sheffield Avenue with visitation prior to the service on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with interment at Crown Hill Cemetery.
